You and Al-Quran?

ARE you one of those people who rarely touch Al-Qur'an? Or do you read daily, but don't find anything that gives impact on you? Whatever the case may be, these are some simple tips that can help you connect with Al-Qur'an. 1. Before you touch it, check your heart. The key to really benefiting from the Qur'an is to check your heart first, before you even touch ALLAH's Book. Ask yourself, honestly, why you are reading it. Is it to just get some information and to let it drift away from you later? Remember that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was described by his wife as a "walking Qur'an": in other words, he didn't just read and recite the Qur'an, he lived it. 2. Do your Wudu (ablution). Doing your Wudu is good physical and mental preparation to remind you that you're not reading just another book. You are about to interact with ALLAH, so being clean should be a priority when communicating with Him. 3. Read at least 5 minutes everyday. Too often,

Interesting thought about English Language

There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger neither apple nor pine in pineapple English muffins weren't invented in England French fries in France Sweetmeats are candies Sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat. We take English for granted But if we explore its paradoxes we find that quicksand can work slowly boxing rings are square a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor a pig. And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth why isn't the plural of booth, beeth? One goose, 2 geese So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2 indices? Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend? If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it? If teachers taught why didn't preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables what does a humanitarian eat? Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum

Lousiana's Fried Chicken: Alternative to Kentucky's Fried Chicken

Image
Few days back, I went to Midvalley for a dinner (alone!). I planned to eat at Portugese Grill, Oasis Foodcourt but then I thought I don't want to eat rice that night. So I walked along the underground floor, lots of restaurant there to eat in...Rasamas, BurgerKing, Dunkin, Krispie Kreme, Kenny, Nando's, Pizza Hut, Domino's, Chicken Rice Shop, Laksa Shake, Sushi King etc etc... too many to put the names all here. But, I was attracted to this restaurant, Popeyes Lousiana Kitchen, next to Domino's Pizza. Quite a small place but I was attracted by the menu, they serve fried chicken like KFC and some seafood and rice meals. I chose to eat a chicken meal- 2 pieces fried chicken, a biscuit (their specialty), coleslaw, mashed potato and a drink. This meal cost me RM9.90 without extra charges. I added a regular cajun fries that cost me RM 2.90. I think the price is quite expensive than KFC (I'm not sure, haven't been to KFC quite a long time) but that could be compromise

Beginning....

Salam and hi to everyone... I decided to write a blog consistently (finally and hopefully...hehe). I've seen and read so many good blogs written by my friends and I think I should follow them and started mine. I had few blogs before... bungakertas.blogspot (the journey) I don't know how to get accessed to this blog since I've forgotten my email address that I used for this blog and unfortunately I closed the blog from the public for editting purposes. So nobody can't access this blog so I guess I should just forget about the blog. mymumherbs.blogspot (Halal Wal Barokah) I opened this blog because my brother requested me to do so. This blog is for our business purposes - promoting HPA products etc. Because I don't have much time and materials for updating this blog before this so I might take some time to get it updated. Hopefully this could be done in this few weeks before my brother asks me again about this blog..heheh~ arangdankertas.blogspot (Arang dan Kertas) My
